Public relations/marketing/social media internship opportunity with women’s clothing line

Katera Collection, a Dallas-based, upscale women’s dress and sportswear line—is looking for a marketing/public relations intern to help market and promote its spring and fall 2010 lines.

Intern will draft communications materials, including press releases and other media kit components, blog entries, social media updates and pitch letters. Intern also will contact journalists and bloggers, maintain media and customer databases, provide event support and contribute ideas to Katera’s communications team.

Applicants must have outstanding writing skills, strong interest in and understanding of professional public relations practices, experience with social media marketing and relationship-building and broad knowledge of traditional and new media outlets. Additionally, candidates must be well organized, detail-oriented and willing to share creative ideas. Interest in fashion, women’s clothing, retail and small business development is a plus.

The duration of this internship is three months, from early March through May 31st 2010.

Intern can be based in either Chicago or Dallas, and will work remotely one day per week under the supervision of Katera’s Chicago-based publicist. While this opportunity is unpaid, many students earn academic credit for their experience and letters of recommendation can be drafted upon request, after successful completion of the internship.

Please send resumes and two writing samples to Lehia at lehia@kateracollection.com no later than March 10, 2010.
